BOSON Capacitive Touch Sensor i8

SKU: BOS0008

BOSON Capacitive Touch Sensor uses capacitive sensing to detect direct touch on metal or indirect touch through plastic/glass. Sensitivity depends on metal surface size and covering material thickness; keep it at a certain desktop height (related to desktop material). With self-adhesive copper foil, it sticks easily to doors/glass. Pair with Arduino expansion boards for interactive projects. Note: Users need to connect and solder the copper foil sensor plate and sensor board themselves.

This article offers a comprehensive guide to creating a touch-controlled fan using micro:bit, including hardware and software setup, wiring diagrams, and example code in both Mind+ and MakeCode, making it accessible for beginners and tech enthusiasts alike.

    2. Example Code for micro:bit-Burglar Alarm for Art Gallery

This article guides you through setting up a burglar alarm system for art galleries using the micro:bit, featuring hardware components like tilt and touch sensors, and software programming with MakeCode and Mind+. By following the provided wiring diagrams and sample code, you can ensure security by alerting with a buzzer when exhibits are touched or tilted.

    3. Example Code for micro:bit-Shy micro:bit

This article offers example code for programming a shy micro:bit, detailing hardware setup, wiring diagrams, and sample codes for both Mind+ and MakeCode platforms, designed to assist users in learning and executing micro:bit projects involving touch sensors and buzzer modules.

    4. Example Code for micro:bit-Colorful Lights

When the touch sensor detects a touch, the micro:bit displays a "heart" pattern, and the red, blue and green LEDs blink in order to present a water flow lighting effect. When no touch is detected, all LEDs turn off and the micro:bit display a "square" pattern.

    Reference

The article discusses capacitive touch sensors, explaining how human touch forms a coupling capacitor with the sensor's surface, allowing detection through insulating materials over 20mm thick. It highlights the need for users to solder the copper foil sensor plate to the sensor board.
