ATmega8 CheapDuino

SKU: DFR0236

CheapDuino is the most cheapest Arduino compatible processor in the world. It's aimed to supply a low cost processor for the students and DIYers from second and third world countries. The price for each cheapDuino controller is almost 1/5 price of the Arduino UNO. So it's also suitable for you to DIY custom project, workshop, gift for friend,E-Textiles and education usage.

    FAQ

    • How is it programmed? For the board, I've selected Arduino NG or Older and Processor is Atmega8. I'm using the adapter board that came with the Cheapduino. With no luck I've tried an FTDI Basic and a Bus Pirate configured as an STK500v2...

    • Hi,

I just bought the Cheapduino, also writing a review-project here in Let's Make Robots: http://robotshop.com/letsma....
I think it's a great product but it needs some improvements or possibilities, like a fast boot. I know it's possible because it's done already with other implementations of ATmega8 like here: http://forum.arduino.cc/ind...

I really need to cut as much as possible the boot time of the Cheapduino to save energy (the boot process takes much more time than my application time so it's a waste of energy from the little battery), otherwise I will be forced to change to another board.

Please can you explain how to load the Optiboot (https://forum.arduino.cc/in... with the Cheapduino? Thanks!

      WOW

    • This is a great little arduino. The cable is a little bit tricky to connect until you get the hang of it. Im not sure what speed the cheapduino runs at, but its fast enough to drive the adafruit neopixel library.
