Usage Example for Host Computer Software
This guide provides a detailed walkthrough on connecting the 9 DOF IMU sensor to the RainbowLink V2 using host computer software. The process includes hardware and software setup, configuring communication modes, and collecting real-time data such as acceleration and gyroscope values.
Hardware Preparation
- TEL0190 RainbowLink V2 ×1
- SEN0694 Gravity:9 DOF IMU Sensor ×1
Software Preparation
- Download and unzip the host computer software: Download Host Software
Wiring Diagram

Connect the 9 DOF IMU sensor to the RainbowLink V2 as shown in the diagram. The main connections are as follows:
- Sensor pin “+” → RainbowLink V2 5V
- Sensor pin “-” → RainbowLink V2 GND
- Sensor UART pin “RX” → RainbowLink V2 TX
- Sensor UART pin “TX” → RainbowLink V2 RX
- Sensor DIP switch configuration: Set the communication mode to UART, and set the address to 0x4A
Operation Steps
-
Open the upper computer software, switch the language to English mode in the upper-right corner, select the correct COM port, set the baud rate to the default 9600, and click Open Serial Port at the top right.
-
Shake the sensor for 3 seconds to complete calibration. At this time, the dynamic motion animation of the 9-DOF IMU sensor will be displayed on the left side of the interface; real-time data such as accelerometer and gyroscope values are shown on the right side.
