Mode 2: Movement Detection

Movement Detection Mode is used to detect movement within the camera's field of view.

The detection level can be adjusted using the onboard rotary control. The module provides three detection levels, allowing it to respond to different degrees of movement.

The onboard blue LED indicators show the currently selected level.

LED Indicators Level Detection Effect Examples
O Level 1 Detects large movements A person walking by, arm waving, or a large card moving quickly
OO Level 2 Detects normal movements (Recommended) Waving, moving a toy, or normal card interaction
OOO Level 3 Detects small movements Finger movement, small objects moving, or slight shaking

Level 2 is recommended for most everyday projects and activities.

How to Use

1. Switch to Movement Detection Mode

Press the Mode button to switch to Movement Detection Mode.

When the corresponding orange mode indicator LED lights up, the module is operating in Movement Detection Mode.

2. Adjust the Detection Level

Press the onboard white button to adjust the movement detection level.

The number of blue LEDs that light up indicates the selected level:

  • 1 LED on: Detects large movements
  • 2 LEDs on: Detects normal movements (recommended for everyday use)
  • 3 LEDs on: Detects small movements

3. Detect Movement

Move the camera or an object in front of the camera.

  • When movement is detected: The onboard white LED turns on, and the PH2.0 port outputs a HIGH signal.
  • When no movement is detected: The white LED turns off, and the PH2.0 port outputs a LOW signal.

Detection Level Details

Level 1: Detects Large Movements

Suitable for detecting obvious, large-scale movements, such as:

  • A person walking in front of the camera
  • An arm moving noticeably
  • A large card moving quickly

This level is less likely to be triggered by minor changes in the scene.

Level 2: Detects Normal Movements

Suitable for most everyday applications, such as:

  • Waving
  • Moving a toy
  • Interacting with regular cards

This level is recommended for most projects and activities.

Level 3: Detects Small Movements

Suitable for detecting smaller movements, such as:

  • Finger movement
  • Small objects moving
  • Slight shaking

This level can detect more subtle movements but may also be more easily affected by changes in the surrounding environment.
