Getting Started

This project includes a PC-based example that demonstrates how to connect the TF Mini laser ranging sensor to a computer using a USB-to-TTL converter and display real-time distance measurements with the provided PC software, as well as important usage notes for the sensor.

Hardware Preparation

  • TF Mini Laser Ranging Sensor x 1
  • USB-to-TTL Converter x 1
  • USB Cable x 1
  • Jumper wires

Software Preparation

Wiring Diagram

Connect the TF Mini to the computer through a USB-to-TTL module as shown below:

The detected distance will be displayed on the PC software interface as shown below:

Precautions for Using TF03 (ToF) Laser Range Sensor

  • This product can only be maintained by qualified professionals, and only original spare parts should be used to ensure performance and safety.
  • The product does not include polarity or over-voltage protection. Please complete wiring and power supply connections strictly according to the Manual.
  • The working temperature range is –20℃ to 60℃; do not operate the device outside this range to avoid risk.
  • The storage temperature range is –40℃ to 85℃; do not store the device outside this range to prevent damage.
  • Do not open the enclosure for assembly or maintenance beyond the instructions in this Manual; otherwise, product performance may be affected.
  • If dirt covers the transmitter or receiver lens, failures may occur. Please keep the lens clean.
  • The product may fail if fully immersed in water; do not use the device underwater.
  • When detecting highly reflective surfaces such as mirrors or smooth tiles, the sensor may not function properly.
