Before You Start

Complete the following setup before connecting the seeMote Cap or running the sample app.

Required Hardware

  1. An Apple Vision Pro.
  2. A Mac that supports the required macOS and Xcode versions.
  3. A seeMote Cap.
  4. A USB-C data cable.

Prepare the Tool to Be Tracked and the Mounting Strap

If you only want to perform an initial test, you can skip this step. No tool or mounting strap is required.

If you plan to mount the seeMote Cap on another tool, determine the mounting method in advance and prepare the required accessories. The bottom of the seeMote Cap features a standard 1/4"-20 UNC threaded hole with a maximum usable depth of 6 mm. The following mounting methods are supported:

  • For a custom-designed or modified tool, you can add a through-hole for a 1/4"-20 screw and use the screw to secure the seeMote Cap. For detailed mounting requirements and precautions, refer to the Mount the seeMote Cap section.

  • For an existing tool, use a mounting strap and a 1/4"-20 screw (1|4-20x8(L2-6mm)) to secure the seeMote Cap to the tool.

Note: When selecting a screw, take the thickness of the mounting structure into account and ensure that the screw does not extend more than 6 mm into the seeMote Cap to avoid damaging the device.

Charge the seeMote Cap

Before first use, fully charge the seeMote Cap.

  1. Connect the seeMote Cap to a USB power source using a USB-C cable.
  2. Check the status indicator to confirm that the device is charging.
  3. Disconnect the cable when charging is complete.

Note: If the seeMote Cap cannot be powered on, charge it for at least 10 minutes before trying again.
