1. Introduction

This is a 14-inch ultra-thin, narrow bezel IPS Type-C bar capacitive touch screen with a 4K high resolution. It supports ten-point capacitive touch and is designed with both Type-C and HDMI dual display interfaces. It can be paired with various system hosts that support 4K resolution, such as LattePanda Sigma, LattePanda 3 Delta, Raspberry Pi 4B, Raspberry Pi 5, to achieve high-definition and detailed display effects.

In terms of appearance, this product follows the common characteristics of bar-shaped screens, which include intuitive information display, clean layout, and the ability to accommodate more content. Compared to traditional aspect ratio displays, the unique 3.5:1 aspect ratio of the bar-shaped screen allows for a more intuitive and focused presentation of information to users. Additionally, with support for up to 4K resolution, this product provides a more refined display with vibrant colors.

So, what are the applicable scenarios for this product?

Countertop and shelf advertising screens

In product displays, using a 4K bar-shaped screen can not only achieve clean layout and intuitive presentation but also maximize the reproduction of the true colors and subtle textures of the products, highlighting their attractiveness and increasing customer purchase intention.

Measurement instruments and equipment

In measurement instruments or equipment, multiple data measurements are often required, and data visualization is necessary. The 4K bar-shaped screen, with its unique elongated shape, can neatly and orderly display multiple data zones. At the same time, the up to 4K resolution ensures that data graphics are displayed with precision and clarity, providing users with accurate and intuitive measurement information.

Smart terminal devices

Using a bar-shaped screen with 4K resolution has significant advantages in retail self-service machines. The bar-shaped screen can play 4K videos or images for advertising or product promotion, attracting the attention of passing customers. When customers make purchases, the long bar-shaped screen can intuitively display the shopping process without the need to flip pages, thereby enhancing the customer's shopping experience.

7.1 Connecting the Display Screen

7.2 Powering on the Screen

7.2.1 Tutorial for Type-C Signal Input

Example: LattePanda 3 Delta

Connection Diagram

The Type-C interface on 3 Delta supports audio/video, touch signal, and power signal input. Here, you need to use a full-featured Type-C data cable to connect 3 Delta and the screen, with the display driver board providing reverse power supply to 3 Delta. As shown in the diagram:

Note: The two Type-C interfaces on the display driver board have the same functions and do not need to differentiate between data and power ports. They support blind insertion.

7.2.2 Tutorial for HDMI Signal Input

Example: Raspberry Pi 4B

Connection Diagram

Connect the display signal using the provided "Micro HDMI to Mini HDMI cable". Then, use a USB data cable to connect from a USB port on the Raspberry Pi to the USB-C CN4 (marked with TOUCH) interface on the display driver board to enable touch functionality.

Note: The Raspberry Pi Power Interface (2-pin spring-loaded pin) on the driver board only supports powering the display screen with Raspberry Pi. If your Raspberry Pi requires high-power operation, please provide separate power to the USB interface of the Raspberry Pi.

FAQ

Q: When the HDMI signal is input, the screen lights up but there is no touch response?

A: First, make sure that the touch USB signal on the motherboard is correctly connected to the Type-C CN1 interface on the display driver board. Please note that in HDMI mode, the touch function can only be connected via the Type-C CN1 interface. Secondly, if the connection is confirmed to be correct, check if the wiring on the touch control board is well connected.
